This thread will be for trying to help out users who are having troubles with their DEMO VERSION of DJS. Do NOT post troubleshooting issues about the FULL version here.
When posting, please state: - DJS version (found under Help > Version) - processor and speed, hyperthreading on / off? - memory size - HD size / free space - number of MP3s currently in DJS, their bitrates, VBR or CBR - soundcard(s), driver configuration (within DJS - ASIO / DirectX) - mixer configuration (internal / external) - detailed description of the problem you're experiencing Disclaimer: This is not an official support channel, but we will assist you to the best of our ability. For more difficult issues we may direct you to contact official support for your region - contact links at the top of every page.< !--color--> Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

Ok Pulse you know my setup (the email and past postings) I did delete the .dat files and I was able to import most of the mp3's but there are still some that are NG. I took the shot and bought the full version tonight anyway. I figured I have spent way more than that on BS songs in the past on vinyl so to me it's worth the shot. Besides I getting hooked and the demo is going to expire in 12 days. So in the mean time please let us know how to not loose what's imported.
Will i have to re-import when I get the full version? |

I'm not sure of that since I've always ever had a full version. I believe that you're really only installing the full OVER the demo so it should use the same dat files.
The troubles you had with the MP3s (NG) were probably because of the MP3 files themselves (a bad VBR or other malformation of the file). I know Karl had some legitimately obtained MP3s which had issues of bad header data. There is a tool to fix it (I'll have to email Japan to find out which one they used), I don't know if it's an easy procedure. If you have any problems with the upgrade, let me know. Enforcer - can you email me one of the ones which didn't import? I could probably tell you why without needing to import it myself.
- if it's more than 5MB, use a fileshare service like http://www.yousendit.comPioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

OK let me try this again.
Playing a track on one side. Cueing a track on the other side while useing the little wave screen if you point to a spot where you want to cue that track, the other track cominmg out of the main will skip or delay. |

Eddie, can you please also reply with the criteria I asked for in the first post (all the information).
That is probably due to the version - I know they had a bug with that but it was updated. What is the version you're using? Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

P4 3.0 HT-ON 1 GIG 50Gigs Free 275 MP3's @ 192kbps Soundblaster Audigy ZS, Direct X Internal mixer Does this thing not beat sync stuff? Because the sync button isnt working worth a damn. All it does is change the bpm to match the other track. How does the beat corrector thing work? You hit it and it does nothing. Help Pulse! |

Windows XP Professional
Version 1.000.100 Intel 1.6GHz processor - hyperthreading don't know 480 ram Storage 55.8G - 20.7G free approx 2000 mp3's - bitrate 128/192 - mostly CBR soundcard M-Audio FW410 DirectX mixer configuration - External How do I get the effects to work in external mixer mode? They seem to vanish. (I know the same thing is on the DJM-500) I tried hooking up 2 555's can't get it to work with DJS. Any suggestions? Just being greedy. I guess I don't need 4 turntables. It won't work right with the DJM-500 anyway cause you really only get 3 line inputs. I use them all for DJS A/B/List. |

Quote: WannaB, just so we're on the same page, there's a difference between beat-sync and auto-mix. (We'll ignore auto-mix because that's a lot more involved.) First you have to ensure that the DJS does in fact have the correct BPM. Sometimes you'll have to tap it in just to be sure, but most of the time it's fairly bang-on. That little beat corrector thing works ONLY to detect the DOWNbeat. You press the big circle ONCE when it's on the 1 count (1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2...). You can do this for each track, setting the beat. The purpose of the indicator is to show you when there's a downbeat. Start a track playing and set its beat with the indicator / corrector. Start another track playing and set its beat with the indicator / corrector, then hit the SYNC button. Press the cue button and when the other track is on a downbeat, press the play button. It should now be in sync and the indicators should match. If they start to slide, chances are the measured BPM is slightly off. Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

Quote: Eddie, for now, the effects only work in internal mode. I had pointed this out to the engineers and hopefully it will be put back in for "external" mode in the future. I haven't tried connecting two DMPs yet (I only have one), but according to the manual all you have to do is the same thing for one - they will show PC Control on the display, one will light up the CD, the other, CARD. CD = player 1, CARD = player 2. If you press the unlit button on either player, they will switch control. Can you get a single DMP to work? I use all 3 outputs (A/B/List) as well - I really love the list player feature! Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

I could get one to work No prob.
I was was just pushing the limits to see how far I could go with it. It seems my mixer will hold me back even if I could get 2 to work. I would like to just not have to use the CD/Line switch on the mixer. I guess I'll wait for my full version to get here with the manual. I am thankful for the demo but they give you nothing to help. Except you Pulse. Thanks. We are all grateful. |

Eddie, it could be that the support for 2 DMPs wasn't added to the DEMO version of the software. I was looking at version / feature lists but didn't see that so I'm not sure.
Why would you need to use the CD/Line switch on the mixer? 2 virtual players mapped to 2 input channels. Why switch? Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

Retail vs. Demo - I'm sure there may be a couple of differences but last I checked they're both nearly identical (save the expiration time).

Quote: Enforcer, I think I found the problem with this MP3 - it's encoded with LAME v3.92, a very buggy version of the encoder. I cross-coded it with a 3.96 version of the encoder and it imported just fine. Use an application such as Easy CD-DA Extractor to cross-code. Even the CDJ200 had an issue with that version. I'll email the engineers and let them know that it's causing trouble here too. Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

Here's how I see it mapped out on the mixer.
External Mixer mode on DJS with fw410 on one 555 usb controling DJS (cd = side a = line 1/2 into card into cd/line 1 of mixer) (card = side b = line 3/4 into card into into cd/phono 1 of mixer) (list = line 5/6 into card into line/phono 2 of mixer) the other 555 would have to go into cd/line of mixer and switch back and forth I already tried phono/sub mic sounds like shizzle. Can you think of another way? |
