I cannot get an 8GB memory stick to work with my CDJ 400's. Where can I begin to eliminate problems ? I dont want to have to use CD's, thus the purchase of the 400's. 8GB is a sufficient size to carry my music.

Hi,

I just bought 2 CDJ 400's with the purpose of using 2 8gig USBsticks or even 16gig ones. But I have same problem:

- brand / model: Sony Microvault
- type (standard, U3, Vista ReadyBoost): Standard
- capacity: 8gig
- possible security or encryption settings: none
- format (FAT, FAT32, NTFS, HFS+): FAT32 Formatted
- number and type of MP3s (VBR, CBR) and bitrates: 1104 (bitrate between 128 & 320 I guess)
- folder structure (0 levels, 1 level, 10 levels): root/10 folders

This is my description so I hope that someone can help me cuz the 8gig or more USBstick option was one of the main reasons I bought the CDJ400!

Thx in advance

I think I have it figured out! I thought that becuz the digit of the cdplayer only could read until 99 I'd have to divide my folders in 99 tracks max each. Gonna see if that works but think that's the 'logical' solution. I'm glad with such an AHA-erlebnis! Big Grin Really hope it works would make & save my day

grtz

The player will read your drives faster if there are fewer than 100 files per folder... I usually suggest people stack them in piles of 20.
