Hey Guys, I have finally decided to upgrade my system to use Mp3 files in my gigs, the problems i am facing are these:
I am using Mac to use serato so i am confused what to buy, I.E. The MEP 7000 or the CDJ 400. Secondly after reading about all the complications of getting the rigs set up for the gigs, I am really not sure if it is actually a good idea to buy them. I just want to be able to have my Mp3 files on hard drive or my mac to work with the players. Please Advise me. Thanks |

You have 3 options...
1) Software (Serato, Torq, Traktor, PCDJ, VirtualDJ, etc) with timecode on a player. 2) Software with a native-mode hardware controller or MIDI controller. 3) Hardware only (no computer) running your MP3s from a USB source. The good news is the MEP and CDJ400 will fill all of the above but even with their complexity, I don't see how they're problematic for setting up at gigs. Once you know how to do it, it's not like you need to change it every time. The biggest difference between the players: - CDJ400's are tabletop players, MEP is rackmount. - MEP only requires one USB source to play audio to both decks whereas each CDJ400 would need its own drive connected. There are more detailed differences but if you're still shopping the "surface", that should get you started. Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

Alright, I will have a wonder down to the store and have a little fun on it. I may just get the CDJ 400's better feel and i'll feel safer.
Thanks. |
