Hi,
Got my new CDJ400's the other day and finally got to take them out last night. I hooked everthing up (cables etc), turned everythin on and started to play., but the volume was so low it was almost in audible. All faders on my Denon DNS500 were up full at this stage and there was more output from my headphones than the CDJ's?? I use PCDJ-VJ and by raising the gains it all I was getting was distortion? Please don't tell my CDJ dream has been ruined.., rather that I just was doing something wrong instead.. Any help greatly appreciated. DJW |

Well, not knowing exactly how you have everything hooked up, I can't tell you where the problem is, especially when you talk about PCDJ which throws a computer into the blender. (WILL IT BLEND!?)
Give us a detailed connection listing and we'll try and help you out. Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

Hi Pulse,
lol.., no my laptop will not blend. Well, just to comment on PCDJ if I may I have been using various versions for the pass four years with absolutly no problems.. If I was given DJS for free after shelling out almost 1200 euros on 2 CDJ400's I'd certainly give it a go My Setup: Compaq R3000 P4 3.2Ghz, 1Gb Ram Blender software/PCDJ-VJ Denon DNX500 Pioneer CDJ400 x2 Samsung 160Gb External H/D I set the CDJ400's as the midi devices and also as the soundcards, it worked alright but at a level which was lower than the output on my head phones? I switched over to my Maya44 soundcard changed the settings to it and everything was fine.., im confussed surely the CDJ400's should be the superior of the two? Is there something else I should have done also? Cheers DJW This message has been edited. Last edited by: DJW, |

You DO have the ability to adjust the levels for the CDJ400 audio outputs within the software as well as the Windows sound mixer control panel applet. Check there first. I've had no problems with the audio levels with either Mac or Windows.

Hi,
I have switched to Virtual Dj and the audio is perfect. I have'nt re-checked it with pcdj-vj yet, im just too busy at the moment, but I will at some stage and let you know if theres a setting or something that needed tweaking. DJW |
