Over 95% of the MP3 files I try to import fail as NG - No Good. I know this is a broad question, but what am I doing wrong? I can get some to import, but most will not.

Can you email me one of the NG files? I'll take a look at it.

I have deleted files that are still visible to DJS and had a problem with the NG. Outside of that it has accepted pretty much the kitchen sink!

Try turning off all background applications and trying again.

Worked for me!

The importer tends to take a lot of CPU, especially on a laptop, slower HDD's have the annoying habit of missing BITs off which is okay for most applications, but detailed sound file analysis needs 100%.

...i'm checking out the trial/demo of SVJ-DL01,and dont see where there is a way to import more than 1 music file at 1 time.
Is there an option for importing a folder?

thanks

Yes, just select the folder instead of opening it.

You can actually select parent folders a couple of levels up... example, my music is stored:

M:\Music\Artist\Album\Number. Track Artist - Track Name.mp3

So if I wanted to get EVERYTHING I can select the Music folder and it will detect all subfolders. Problem with over 14,000 songs ... it's a bit slow. Plan on leaving your laptop for a day or so to import and build waveforms for that many.

every time i attempt more than 10 mp3s, the program crashes..guess it because its the trial version.
Also just attempted to play around with it mixing, importing etc, and it started out fine then when i went to cue the other song the master outgoing song starting stuttering..and i couldnt get it to stop.

I'm testing on a
Winxp
Dual Core 1.6
2 gig ram
Audio Advantage soundcard.

Try increasing the buffer size - it sounds like your soundcard isn't handling it as well as it could (are you using ASIO or DirectX drivers?).

As for the imports, it could very well be that you've got a damaged MP3 file and the import is causing problems.

If you can, switch to ASIO. Some soundcards don't have drivers for ASIO, but it's a better system which doesn't rely on the processor as much.

i increased the buffer,it seems to be playing fine, dont have the option to change to ASIO..only direct X.
Also, every attempt I make to mix 2 songs using the "automix" on cross fader, will make the incoming song jump as soon the Cross fader starts to move. For example Player A is playing out, Player B is cued, soon as i hit the AUTOMIX button Player B will start but with a jump and the beats are off.
I've tried numerous times...anyone else getting this?

Have you cued it to the beat and previewed it to make sure it's "on"? Also, are you using the crossfade or snap-fade?

Yes, its cued and it also sounds fine when i'm cueing it up, it only jumps when using the crossfader.

What is snap-fade? You got me on that one?

The snap-fade is the T icon, the crossfade is the X icon. Echo fade is the one that looks like your cellular service bars, the zip looks like a curve...

thanks pulse, i appreciate all the help and quick responds. Im very frustrated with this software, after creating numerous playlist, i wanted to test this snap-fade issue. None of the files are allowing me to drag them to the Player A or B. The files on my HD have not been moved or changed,,plus there are alot of ????????????? in the tags of my songs...which dont show up anywhere else in my other music apps...
I thought maybe Tag Version ? what do you think?
