Could anyone tell me whether i need to update any firmware on the cdj400s just purchased. Having probs with one of them, sometimes it wont load cd's and have to re-power unit on and off, also the drive on it sounds noisy compared to the other one.
Sanity cleansed daily.

Maybe it was dropped or damaged in shipping. Check the firmware:

Turn ON the power to your CDJ-400
Press and hold the RELOOP/EXIT button for approx 10 seconds.
The units firmware version will then be displayed.
To exit, turn the power OFF and then back ON again.

Compare it from one to the other, if you need to update, visit this website.

Both my players are Version 1.12...updated them to 1.20 and both are still freezing midway into things?

Any idea of the cause?

Can you run down the full set-up and when it's stopping. What tracks are they, and have you played them on another player without problem? Are they burned correctly? Are they MP3's or audio tracks? Is this with a Flash Drive or a Disc?

We can better answer things if we know all the terms that are going on. It ultimately may come down to contacting tech support, but more info would be good.

I'm using Nero burning software. I put the tracks on to a Data Disc. Some tracks are 320kbps from beatport and others are VBR from LimeWire. I Use a PC, haven't used the USB on them yet.

It first happened 29 tracks into a Disc. I powered the unit off and powered it back on again. Then ejected the disc and put in a different one, same thing happened only it loaded the New Disc then froze immediately.

When it freezes nothing works only the Power Button. Is VBR the problem?
