Need advice on config. I have a Macbook Pro running Serato 1.8.2, my Serato interface is connected via USB and the firmware is updated on the CDJ400s to 1.3.
The virtual deck browser is up, I can drag and drop tunes in each, the tunes load into the 400s with titles in the scroll window etc but they don't play. What am I doing wrong / not doing please? Do I need to assign all the button on the players to the software by midi? It's the only thing I can think of! Help! Thanks |

Nope, just be sure they're in PC MODE and connected BEFORE you open Serato. When you do, it will ask "DECK: LEFT?" or "DECK: RIGHT?" on each player. Assign them and they should work without issue.

That's great thanks. Got them to drive the tunes in Serato now and the led is turning on the 400s HOWEVER there is no audio heard.
The radio studio I am working from has 2 x CDJ400s set up using the digital output to desk. I have no problem playing MP3s from USB key but they are not audible when playing in Serato. Surely I don't have to use the 400s or Serato control box line outputs?? Any clues to this one?? Getting closer!! Thanks for any help. |

OK I see from another forum that Serato can't use the soundcard on the CDJ400s like Traktor etc. That's a real shame.
Are there any plans afoot to make this happen? |

Because Serato uses their hardware as a "dongle" to control the ownership of the software (because it's available online for free), you still need to use the ScratchAmp box.
The way I use it is: DJM400 digital out > DJM800 digital in Serato out > DJM800 analog in This is for each deck, left and right, which thus occupies 4 channels. The nice thing is you don't need to connect inputs to the ScratchAmp nor do you need the "through" connections. Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |
