Hi All,
I bought 2 CDJ400s at the weekend, before they arrived I purchased 2 USB flash drives, both Traxdata - one 8gig and one 16gig. I followed the instructions, format twice, FAT32 etc put a few tracks (maybe ten) on them and plugged them in... Nothing.. Tried an old Disgo key that was lying in a drawer held together by sellotape and it worked no problem. Soo, are my Traxdata sticks just plain incompatible? If so why? And how can I know before buying another brand whether they will work as once they are out of the packaging they cannot be returned to the supplier.. |

256mb... not much use for the job, wouldn't be too hot on buying another disgo drive as the casing came off the last one!
What brand do you use? and more importantly where did you buy it!? |

See my Flash Drive Testing thread.
Things I suspect: - quality (I've never heard of Traxdata before) - format (did you do a FULL format or a QUICK format) - file structure (how did you arrange your files) Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

I currently have a disgo flash drive held together with duct tape so I know what you mean. I find the Lexar quite good. You can get them in all decent computer stores e.g. PC World, Soundstore etc.
With regards to your current situation ditch Traxdata... I know you've probably spent the best part of €100 but... Organise your music into properly arranged folders i.e. don't have all your music in one huge folder. |

Hi everyone,
I'm also wondering if I'm on the right track. I just bought a pair of 400's and i already have a Toshiba 250GB ext hard drive. http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/adet.to?seg=HHO&poid=408545 I have not transferred my music yet but I am about to. Can I use it with my CDJ400 properly; if I followed all the necessary instructions (formatting etc) or is not necessary at all? I really would love all my music on that hard drive. I have lots of CD's and my back is killing me now (just like most of us - I guess). Any help will be appreciated. |

If you format the drive per the instructions in this forum, you'll be fine.

Thank you, thats what I was hoping to hear. Its not the size of the hard drive/number of songs - its how I organize my music/folders that matter.
Gonna take my time and do it right. Thanks djjay |
