I just have a quick question about the latest firmware upgrade for the CDJ-400.

I played an event this weekend with our CDJ-400 midi controllers using VDJ-5.2 I switched one of the controllers to CD mode to play a song off a cd, when I switched back to PC mode to use the player as a midi control, the built in soundcard was not recognized and the program crashed.
Does the latest firmware update address this with Virtual DJ 5.2 or is it a separate problem?

That's a problem with Virtual DJ and Windows. When you switched over to CD mode but left VDJ running, when you switched back over to PC mode, the software didn't check for new hardware (soundcards / MIDI control devices) and thus it didn't work.

So,

so does that mean that everytime I want to play a CD, I have to shut of VDJ when I go to CD mode and then restart the program when I go back to PC mode?

or does the latest firmware fix this problem?

That's what it sounds like to me and that's all thanks to the way Windows and VDJ operate.

You don't sound like your much of a fan of VDJ.

I also have OTSAV on the system, but unfortunately there have been no CDJ-400 maps for it as of yet.

I'm not a huge fan of it, especially since I really love the functionality of the CDJ400 with Serato, but yeah, it has its place in the market and I can see why DJs use it.

I'm trying to get ahold of a 2nd CDJ400 for testing a few things with it and this is one of them.

Pulse,

I have 2 CDJ-400's right here hooked into the computer. What is it you are trying to test?

Maybe I could be of some assistance.
