ok, so I rip a bunch of CDs to WMA using Windows Media Player 8 at 192 kbps. Burn them onto a CD-RW, put the CD-RW into the DMP-555. It does not recognize any music on the CD-RW.

So the DMP-555 does not support WMA?

cr@p... (haha, board automatically interprets words with an @ symbol as being an email address)

know of any programs to convert WMA to MP3

Or better yet, how to get the DJ Booth to find my CD information? and how to change the location it puts the ripped MP3s? (C drive is getting full)

ok, nevermind, I got the CD information, but the software stores the MP3 files in a proprietary format.

Guess I'm off to find a good MP3 ripping piece of software... maybe I still have audio catalyst laying around somewhere.

ok, I'm making some progress here. Got audio catalyst working, and now I'm ripping CDs to MP3, which is good, they'll all be in a standard format and bitrate, so that'll be good. Then I'll burn a couple of CD-RWs full of mp3s and mess around with the unit in stand alone. Then when I'm feeling saucy I'll hook up the DJ Booth software.

Just a note, I received word from Japan that the VBRs aren't fully supported yet. Just an FYI.

i would stay away from audio catalyst as your ripper, the MP3 encoder used in there (Xing) sucks. I would suggest you use LAME. Go to r3mix.net to get more info on how to rip better.

I HAVE SOME SONGS THAT I HAVE DOWNLOADED THAT I CAN PUT ON THE SD BUT NOT ON CD, AND THE OTHER WAY AROUND. MUCH OF MY RESPECT GOES TO THE PEOPLE THAT DESIGNED THIS PRODUCT. IT SHOULD BE THE STANTARD, BUT I WILL NEVER GIVE UP MY MK2'S.
