Hello,
Introduction - I am a pro DJ working in the clubs and running my own Mobile disco Unis in scotland, I have alway used Pioneer Products as i see them as being alway head of the game but i am a fairly new user to the MEP 7000 Platform. Right here goes. I have transfered my MP3 collection (most burnt from Vinal Promos over the years) and run checks on files using the MP£ Validator found on this forum, my only failing was with files was ID3 Tags. I have created a libaray and on first inspection through unit it was a mess load of genres with few files on them. Is there a program been release to manage the library, allowing you see it on the pc and fix the incorrectly tagged files (poineer release). Or is there a program that you would recommend to manager id3 tags untill a libary utility is released. Can you also advise me on the following. A fellow Dj long time mate who current uses the Denon Platform advised my i should convert all the MP3 to the Same sampling ration of 44100. As hes siad it lead to less problem playing files. Is this correct. |

First, no, Pioneer doesn't have a solution for repairing ID3 tags. There are a couple of threads on the forums here where we've discussed them - my preference is Tag & Rename... it's a pay software but it's good.
As for converting to 44.1kHz, most MP3 encoders have that as a preset. You might have done some at 48kHz but there will be no issue in playback of either sample rate. He might have also been referring to bitrate rather than sample rate. 320k is the top for MP3 and I don't suggest using anything less than 256k. You won't gain anything by upconverting from lower bitrate files; garbage in = garbage out. Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

Thanks,
Tag and Rename is what i current use for Tag Management as it a brillant app and dont mind a wee bit payment tp get software thats is brillant at its job. I alway rip CD's at 256kbits to mp3. He was trying to get me to use 192 cd quality and denon software but i knew that would be silly. iam new to the digital world and though i would start of the correct method. Thanks very much for the very valued advise. |
