I have to trial version of the ProDJ Software. I just now started using (or wanted to start using) it to make mixtapes. Now, since I just got it, I don't know too much about it. How do I use this software to export mixed files?
For instance, if I upload a song to the program, and increase the tempo, how do I export this song with the increased tempo? |

You don't. DJS isn't production software, it's performance software. If you want to record the tracks and your mixes, you need to do some gymnastics with the audio path in order to record it.
I usually route the audio out to an external mixer then back into the computer and record with another application (such as the free Audacity). Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

Thanks for the tip.
Is that the best approach in doing what I want to do? Or is having two external CDJ units and a mixer routed into the computer? And which software would you recommend for this? I have MixMiester Express 6. Does the application in which I use matter based on preference or quality? Thanks, Tony |

Why is it you want to change the pitch of a track and save it changed?

In the mix software (MixMiester), I am able to increase the tempo of a song, but then the quality of the song because off, (the beat 'beats' off cue or more than it needs to, ect).
On the other hand, with the Pioneer DJS trial software, I can increase or decrease the speed of a song with or without messing with the tempo, and the quality remains excellent. So in my mixtapes, I like to increase a songs speed rather than leave it at its default pase, for it sounds better. Like stated before, which method is best for this situation? The DJ Software with an external mixer wired back into the computer? Or two external turntables and a mixer wired into the computer? |
