I just purchased a pair of CDJ-400s and realized that it comes with the additional DJS software. Will this be compatible with my Macbook?

No, but you can run any one of the emulation apps (Bootcamp, Parallels, VMWare) and then run DJS on Windows within that.

I know every DJ uses Mac (Pulse), but I think Pioneer like amny companies think of the market as 95% PC and 5% Mac. it's the mob rules line of thinking....

I am running Leopard w/ parallels , but I get an error on startup "The presetgenre settings could not be aquired". I am going to boot directly into windows without parallels and see.

Any ideas? Has this been tested by anyone?

Something to do with those crazy genre settings. Roll Eyes

What version of DJS are you running? Trial or full? XP or Vista? Need some info to provide answers.

Silly me Smiler It ended up being my version of windows. I was using a *cough* stripped version of XP (was way faster as it only used 32 megs of ram) , and DJS did not like it.

So, I am now using my full install again and DJS loads, but my fasttrack pro is just all static with no actual sound and the controller does not work (although it is detected in XP as a audio device and HID).

If I could get this to work in Parallels, I won't have to boot into XP.

Thanks again Pulse Smiler

To be honest, I've not tried using any of the players as controllers across Parallels, I'm always using Bootcamp to jump to a full dedication of the hardware since those DJ apps can be processor and memory intensive.

I am not familiar with how bootcamp works, do you boot into the os completely using no emulation? I have leopard installed on one drive and windows on the other can use a boot loader to choose between the two.

By the looks of it Parallels does not want to play with the cdj 400's and software. Boo!

When I boot the computer, I can hold the Option key to select either OS. It dedicates the session entirely to one OS rather than Parallels which splits the active resources based on preconfigured settings.
