This thread will be a locked, information-only repository for MIDI information for the CDJ-400, MEP-7000 and SEP-C1. If you have specific questions regarding MIDI and these devices, please post a new thread. If you have questions regarding the MIDI functions of the Pioneer mixers or effectors, please post in the appropriate forum. Download the CDJ-400 / MEP-7000 / SEP-C1 MIDI chart and templates. Bundled in the 1.1 version of the package (08.11.26): - CDJ400 MIDI chart - Traktor3 MIDI 1x CDJ400 template - Traktor3 MIDI 2x CDJ400 template - Traktor3 MIDI MEP7000 template - Traktor Pro MIDI 1x CDJ400 template - Traktor Pro MIDI 2x CDJ400 template - Traktor Pro MIDI MEP7000 template - PCDJ Dex MIDI CDJ400 template - VirtualDJ MIDI CDJ400 template - VirtualDJ MIDI MEP7000 template I have the following comments for the templates: - There is no "list" of what is mapped where on each of the templates, if you're curious, see the mappings within the software. - I know not every button has been mapped - these are designed as a "foundation" for you to have at least the very basic functions working. - Some functions don't work properly or as expected. In some cases this is a limitation of the software and its MIDI implementation or control options, in others, I simply don't know the software well enough. (A good example of this is having the CUE button operate how it does in traditional Pioneer CDJ mode - if you know how to get this working, PLEASE let me know! It's quite frustrating!) - The eject button switches the "active" focus between decks in most templates. (In Traktor3, it actually switches A > B > C > D. If you have decks C and D hidden, to switch from B back to A, you'll have to press the button 3 times.) - Yes, I am aware that the scratch function of the jog is not the way you would expect it to work: If you press down on the platter, it stops. If you move the platter, it scratches. If you stop moving the platter but are still holding it down, chances are very good that the player will resume playback. I am not 100% familiar with the various software applications and simply haven't spent enough time trying to find the specific settings in order to work around this issue. - No, I have not figured out how to get the LEDs to illuminate for things like the loops. - If you have improvements for my templates, please email me and I'll review the changes and possibly post it to the template package with credit to you. If you have your OWN template, feel free to post it to the forum. - Some applications aren't listed here but may take advantage of a similar template. For example, Numark Cue and PCDJ VJ are based on Virtual DJ's code and as a result, you can load the same Virtual DJ template for those programs and they'll work just fine. The following applications will soon have native mode support and thus have not had MIDI maps created: - Serato Scratch Live - MixVibes I have intentionally not created a map for Torq as they currently don't have an easy way to operate the software with only one controller. Updates to this package will be noted and a new post added with version change information (as well as included in the ZIP's readme file). This message has been edited. VERSION 1.1 NOTES
===================== - I changed the Traktor3 mapping for "active" deck focus switching - I got really tired of hearing the disc eject mechanism working every time I used the button for software so it's been changed to the BACK button. - Traktor Pro was released and Native Instruments was thoughtful enough not to allow users to import existing settings or templates so I recreated the templates. They've made some nice changes to the MIDI config options but also removed a few staples which made control similar to actual CDJ operation. If you feel like making changes to the config, go right ahead! - I've combined the MEP7000 information with this MIDI package since they're so similar and don't take much space. - VirtualDJ's latest version features support for the CDJ400 in Native Mode but I have included the maps for those who are using older versions. VERSION 1.1 CHANGELOG ===================== - Traktor3 MIDI template (08.03.04) removed - Traktor3 MIDI 1x CDJ400 template (08.11.26) added - Traktor3 MIDI 2x CDJ400 template (08.11.26) added - Traktor3 MIDI MEP7000 template (08.11.26) added - Traktor Pro MIDI 1x CDJ400 template (08.11.26) added - Traktor Pro MIDI 2x CDJ400 template (08.11.26) added - Traktor Pro MIDI MEP7000 template (08.11.26) added - VirtualDJ MIDI MEP7000 template (08.11.26) added This message has been edited.
