Hey Pulse just how accurate is the beat counter on the dmp555. I have a roland dj2000 mixer, and would just like to know how close the two are. Before I bought my second dmp555 I was thinking about buying a cdj1000, and still might. Between the two which do you like the best?

Beat counter? You mean the BPM display? It's really accurate. Pioneer's done a great job with it. I find that occasionally there's a tiny discrepancy between the meters on all the players / mixers, but as I only use it for reference, it's not a big deal when it's out by 0.2% on the readout.
The DMP555's BPM meter is 1 decimal, which is great for finer accuracy, but as I said, it's only for reference, so it's not a the be all and end all of mixing. ![]() Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |

yeah... BPM counters are just a tool to aid in mixing. I occassionally will use them to help give me a ball park figure, but it's always up to the ears. And with my mixing technique with vinyl, getting too close actually makes the process harder...
