I know there's been lots of questions about using Traktor with Pioneer products. They mainly break into 2 categories:

- MIDI
- soundcard

I've updated the MIDI maps for both Traktor3 and the new Traktor Pro, they can be found in this thread.

To get your devices working as soundcards, first you need to install the latest drivers (for XP / Vista). Get them here:

- MEP / SEP
- CDJ400

Next, when using multiple devices as soundcards, you'll need to take some additional steps as Native Instruments still haven't provided the necessary mechanism for using more than one soundcard in their program.

For PC: Download and install ASIO4All. Instructions are included and it's not overly complicated.

For Mac: Follow the instructions to create an aggregate audio device. I had a couple of hiccups where I needed to re-create the aggregation after disconnecting the CDJ400's, but it works and it works fantastically once it's set-up.

That's it - any questions, just ask!

Pulse:

I just got my 2xCDJ400s and DJM400.
1) I have upgraded to firmware 1.30, and installed drivers.
2) Set Decks to Midi channels 1 and 2
3) Installed ASIO4ALL, chosen both Audio8, and Pioneer CDJs
4) Opened Traktor, chose ASIO4ALL as Audio Device
5) Under MIDI Setup, chose Pioneer CDJ400 (Emulated)
6) MidiMapping / Import / Your midi file

Nothing happens when I use the CDJs.

What am I missing? I will appreciate any help.

With the 400's I did not think you would need the Audio 8 DJ as a sound card.

Is the CDJ in PC mode? Have you set a different MIDI channel for each (1 for left, 2 for right)?

yes¡¡¡ the CDJ 400 is in PC MODE for use this like a soundcard and I select a diferent midi channel for each¡¡¡¡ perhaps the problems is in the form tha i import de template. I open the preference menu of traktor and I click on import button then I search the file and accept...then a message appears on the screen that asks me as I want to import it and I will select as midi map, then repeat the operation for the second file

thanks for the speed in a reply

Alexi, are you saying that only the effect buttons don't do anything? If that's the case, well, you're correct since they aren't mapped!
