1) TURN OFF YOUR CAPS LOCK
2) Read this then ask questions.

Yes, and in my guide I cover 3 audio routing scenarios. Which did you choose?

ok, ive read method 1. but i cant assign 'ext. out on channel 2 to 3/4'. it doesnt appear on menu. at the moment the audio is coming out of channel 2 for both channel 2 and 3 on ableton.

Do you have a multiple-output soundcard? If so, do you have all those outputs enabled within the preferences?

Once you've got them enabled you can assign the outputs (if they're not visible, simply click the black I/O button to the very right of the mixer section at the edge of the controls).

That's a single stereo pair you're working with so no, you don't have much flexibility. If that's the case, you're best off mixing the audio from Ableton within the software and outputting it from the master through the mixer (if that's the route you want to take).

thanks for helping me out dude Smiler but i would like it to do it the proper way, as by having audio getting seperated into two different channels on the mixer. if i want to do this, is this an ideal product for the job??

No - that unit is also 2/2 (in/out). You want at least a 4/4 device which DOES NOT count the digitals (it can get confusing).

A box like the M-Audio 410 has 4 ins and 10 outs, but 2 of the ins are digital. That doesn't matter so much as having the 8 analog outs which are perfect for the outputs for 4 stereo channels from Ableton.

Take a look around and see what fits your needs / budget, there's TONS of I/Os out there both USB and FireWire.
