Hello
I'm going to buy a new mixer soon so I need this info If I understand it right manual filter only works for master, so while I have two channels up it will affect both of them? Is it possible to assign it to for example one channel to filtering lows during transition ? Thx in advance for the answer |

You are right the manual filter affects the master so both tracks would be "filtered". You could use the filter in the efx bank but obviously it's not the same thing.

You can use it to affect only one of the channels by turning on an effect since the filter can be used in "normal" mode (which filters the master) or in "effect" mode (which filters only the effects).

I will put reverb or flange on a channel at a very low level and then use the filter to affect that channel only when I mix. It's great to bring in that extra low end punch on a mix!!

Ok thx guys for this info.
Would be nice to have a button on every channel above the cue button to choose which channel is affected by the manual filter knob, just like it works on xone42 I guess you can't have everything hehe Cheers |

On the DJM 700, the manual filter effects the channel that the selector is on. Or if you put the selector on master then it will effect all channels.

...and if you press the button, it will affect the audio on the effects rather than the output signal.

...and I think this guy might be confused by reading this thread. To answer your question yes you can set the filter to affect only one channel or all of them through master. You dont have to use the filter on an effect to make it work. What you cant do is use two different efx on two different channels simultaneously. You can filter your lows during a transition by just choosing the channel for all your efx and twisting the filter knob.
