I need your help connecting my djm500 mixer to my receiver.
These are the connections I set up so far. a. Mixer master out to my receiver cd input. b. I have my cdr out going into the ch1 cd input in the mixer. c. Turntable going into mixer ch2 input. d. I have the cdr rec input going to the receiver output. Will the connections I have so far allow me to mix between phono and cdr, monitor both channels and record my mixes into my cdr? I would like to create mix cds. Your help is urgently needed? ![]() |

Yes, provided that your CDR doesn't have a monitored in/out system which would cause a feedback loop.

Quote: if that happens than you could use the booth monitor output and only crank it up when you're recording... this is how i'd do it (which is how i have the computer setup)... |

All I have at the back of my cdr is:
Play - line in and out Rec - line in and out and digital in and out both optical and coaxial. DJ Pulse mentioned something about a loop feedback and SpinThis mentioned something about a booth monitor. Could you please explain this to me? Possibly giving me step by step instructions. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks! |

What happens with a feedback loop is you have sound going out ... and back in.
The simplest loop would be connecting your master outputs to one of your input channels and having that channel's signal being output to the master. See how it loops? When you have your master ouput going to the CDR, so long as the same signal doesn't come back to the mixer (well, it can, but it can't be fed into the mix), it won't cause the feedback loop. I mentioned the connections at the back of my cdr and the input I'm am using on my receiver. The djm-500 has -
- master output - 1 for RCA cables. - both monitor output - 4 input channels for cd, phono, tape, md. - master out - 2 terminal for xlr input - master out - 3 for phone input - external effect connecting terminal - ch4 sub mic input terminal I assume the only inputs I can use are the RCA inputs since I dont have any xlr or phone inputs on my receiver or cdr. Will the connections I mentioned in my previous post work for playing, monitoring and recording? If not, are you suggesting I should connect the master output-1 on the mixer to one of the four channel inputs? The only other outputs available on the mixer are the booth monitor output, xlr output and the phone output. Those outputs won't work with my receiver or cdr. Am I missing something? Please explain again If you don't mind. I've trying to figure out the connections for sometime now, anyone's help is appreciated. Thanks. ![]() |

Here's what you do...
Connect your inputs from your devices to the mixer. Connect your master output to either a recording device (CDR) or a monitoring device (amplifier / receiver). Alternately, if you want to have both recording AND monitoring, you can use the Booth Monitor output for the monitoring, which would make the master the recording output. If you need further assistance (ie; a picture) go to www.pioneerprodj.com and look at the manual for the DJM500 under Products. Pioneer National Trainer // Product Specialist |
