I must agree with "sir Real"
Its not the proff way to go! and the only reason I found out was because Im a audio tech and I know how to investigate problems! but what does a normal user do? And why havent pioneer configurate the plug for the mic so a balanced XLR plug will work? Thats silly!!!! Jorgen (Denmark) |

Balanced only helps reduce noise if you're going more than 6 feet (and even that's questionable). Other than that, unless you have a REALLY crappy cable, you won't hear any difference anyway.
However, I agree that it makes more sense to stick a balanced connection in there that can do both. -r- |

I've used unbalanced over a run of 100 feet and had no noticeable interference. It's not the end of the world.
