Hi Guys!

Im having a bit of a problem, i really wanna go digital from my Pioneer DJM-800 to my PC.

I have linked it up with a RCA to Jack cable from the mixer into my internal soundcard in my computer, but for some strange reason i cannot get any sound (ones and zeros) through. i have tried 48kHz and 96kHz both on the mixer and my soundcard and software.

Im running 2xTechnics SL1210M5G, 2xPioneer CDJ1000mk3, DJM800 and my soundcard is a Creative X-Fi Music.

Do you have any idea what the issue could be?
Could a earlier installation of ASIO4ALL conflict? (i have turned the ASIO4ALL driver off in the ASIO4ALL control panel)

Thanks,

Skeptik.

ps. sorry for my bad english

The problem might be your cable. If it's a standard Y-jack cable (where you have the minijack on one end and 2 RCA's on the other) you might just have the wrong one of the 2 RCA's plugged in. Try the other.

If it's a dedicated "digital to digital" RCA to minijack, then it's probably software. Do you have the port enabled as a digital in on the X-Fi control panel? Can it even DO that (it might not be able to use the port as a digital In, only as a digital out)?

ASIO4ALL shouldn't make a difference.

Hi RyanJ,

It is in fact a standard Y-cable, and i have tried both RCA connectors, no difference.

The port is enabled as Digital In on my soundcard!! and yes, it has a fully configurable interface, so Mic, Line-in, Digital-in etc. is in the same plug! This is setup via. the Volume Panel that comes with the drivers for the soundcard. Im running the Volume Panel in "Audio Creation Mode" i also have a "monitor function" directly in the panel, and its show the same as in soundforge and wavelab, yep, absolutely NOTHING Smiler

Do i have to get one of these 75 Ohm cables?
or maybe a mono minijack to RCA?

Thanks,

Skeptik

Do they even make a Y RCA to minijack? Confused Wouldn't that lead to bad data because of potential for the 2nd jack to be cross-talking?

It sounds to me like you need a different cable.

Mono minijack is what you need. Connector will be the problem for sure. You might have to get a 75 ohm cable (don't pay too much for it - not worth it) and an adaptor. You also might be able to find a mono minijack to RCA designed just for this as well.

Pulse - clicky - that's just one of a zillion.
