When I am playing a track, I try and adjust the trim so that it is still in the green on the level meters.

I was just wondering what level it should be? I am starting to suspect that I'm doing it a bit too low.

What should I aim at during the meatiest part of the track?
Thanks for your help.

Find the loudest part, let that hit 0dB or +1dB, adjust your trim - set it and forget it. Next track: repeat.
