Hi Guys
New to the forum, am hoping you can help. I just picked up a 2nd hand DJM 3000 (unfortunately without a manual) and am trying to work out if it's knackered (just my luck!) or if it's just me not understanding how the headphone controls work (more likely). On my old mixer, I had a slider which would control what was coming through the headphones. If I had it all the way to the left it meant I could only hear the the channel I was going to bringing in to the mix, if I had it all the way to the right I could hear what was coming out of the master outputs. I was lead to believe that on the DJM3000 I could have this, OR I could choose to have one channel in one ear and one channel in the right. I can't seem to do this ? Should I be able to ? On one setting, if I have cue and master buttons pressed, with the dial one way I can hear just the channel I am going to bring in, and with the dial the other way I can hear what is coming out of the master. Unfortunately though, I have my mixer connected to a pair of powered monitors and I have to have the master down on about level 1 to ensure the monitors arent blasting out. The headphone control seems to be effected by this volume control meaning that I can barely hear the master output in my headphones. On the other setting - well I cant work this out at all !? If I select 2 channels they both seem to come out the left ear and nothing out the right - does this mean it's broken ? Can someone give me a quick run down on how the two modes are meant to function, and what I am meant to hear in each case ? Also, if I want to just mix in my headphones and not have any output from my speakers - what are my options ? Is it a case that I have to just unplug my speakers since the master control also effects whats in the headphones !? Sorry for being a bit thick on all this, I'm new to Pioneer mixers and a bit lost! Thanks in advance. Scott |

Firstly I would suggest connecting the speakers to "monitor out" and not master... that's what I have always felt works best...
Secondly, you can find the manual here http://www.pioneerprodj.com/cm/products/doc/DJM3000_manual.pdf I would suggest taking a read first... I can elaborate (or anyone else) on your problem, but not right now, cuz I'm at work ![]() cheers |

ahhh, youre a star, I will take a look through.
Also, I am using the XLR outputs to go to my monitors as I was told this was best, so I couldnt use the booth outputs. Though I could buy new leads as this would eliminate the volume problem if this is the only way. Thanks for the link, I will have a read for now. Cheers matey. |

Sussed it now, it was just that I needed to have the Main volume up a decent amount to be able to hear it in the headphones.
A little annoying that you cant choose to have the volume control not affecting the headphone output, but Ive lowered the attenuator right down on the back so that I can have the main volume up nice n high. |
