Hi all,
Can a few of you veterans explain the uses of the "send/return" to me please?
I know it's for using with external devices such as an effector but I'm looking to understand it a little more. What it does, why, and what else other than a ...say...efx 500 or 1k.

Thanks in advance,
Shah

In a nutshell, you take specific audio and "send" it to an external effector. You then impliment a specific effect or multiple effects on that audio, "return" it back to the source for listening. Once you like it and have it set-up the way you want, you play it for all the world.

Yes there are more in depth answers, but in a nutshell it is what it says it is- Send/Return

Jay, if I may I wanna bug you again. Roll Eyes

To help me understand this a little better, tell me what I can do with a Roland R8 and the send/return option.

I only ask 'cause I have one lying around at home and I thought I might understand the versatility of this feature when used with something I have used in the past.

Thanks

The R8 is a drum machine, but I think it takes Midi?? If so then you could try using the 800 as a midi controller for it! As far as S/R with a drum machine, I don't think it would do anything.

the only thing would be that it nmay act like an input, then just rca it to a channel and see, BUT I have look up the specs on it first.

Ya it does take midi.

I tell you what, I'll do a little research on the net and if I still don't get it, then I'll bug you again for more info.
Sorry my dad's drum machine may have been a bad example.
Thanks for the quick reply.
