First, I have a humming noise that seems to get loud for few seconds and then quiets down. I never had any noise issues before, but checked all cables and electrical connections and it seems like the cause is internal. Second, the headphone volume is very low, even with volume know all the way to the right. The only way to turn it up is to turn up the trim on each channel, but then the volume sliders have to be at the bottom which makes it hard to work with. I could turn down the master, but then can't hear the microphone. Speaking of mic, I bought an Audio Technica gooseneck and it is the worst mic I have ever used. Sounds like talking through a telephone line and feedbacks at a very low volume. Completely useless. OK, now the positives: Solid build feel, no loose knobs. I like that the EQ goes to +12. Sound quality seems to be OK. Don't know... maybe the 800 would have been a better option?

??? First things first. Have you checked the power source your using to verify it's clean power. I have gigs all the time where the outlets are giving me a ground hum due to the site. There are options like a ground lift? Dumb question but do you have the cues selected for the channel that your monitoring? And yes the trim should up a bit since it gives the overall volume to the channel for out/monitor. microphone wise, i never had any issues with the 3000 and microphone sounds, I would try changing out the mic and use a cord and handheld to test? Also turn the channel down against the master to stop or lessen the feedback..

1.) Your gain on the back of the mixer could be too high. They usually crank them up from the factory. You will need a small screwdriver to adjust the gain on the back of the mixer.
2.) For your headphones - you need to adjust your trim louder. That will fix that problem and make it louder in your headphones. 3.) As of February 2009, most lower end mics will not work due to the frequencies in the 700MHZ has been sold to first responders (like 911). Every DJ will have to upgrade or modify their current mics. Check that your faders are seated properly - remove the faceplate, unscrew each channel fader then reinstall it.

Have you installed the 3000 in a console together with a cd player?
If so..... you might have a hum loop! Because you have earth between mixer and cd player in the phono cord and you also have earth through the case off the mixer and Cd player so you need to isolate one or the other from the console! Hope that will solve your problem! jorgen jonassen (denmark) |
