I have a 3000, and it sounds great to me. I have CD players that have effects built in so they get used first, but at least the fader effects don't sound to digital to me.
Hey by the way, define digital sounding ![]() Pioneer National Trainer & Product Specialist |

I think when people say it sounds digital they mean it does not sound "warm" or "natural" kind of hard to describe. I don't agree with this pioneer mixers give you a very clean and accurate sound.

They're probably the same people who say vinyl sounds warmer. Yeah, cuz the highs are a bit weaker and the bass a bit rumblier.

the sound put out on those mixers are better.
Pioneer mixers do have a "digital" sound on them, but they are still solid mixers. I just wish they could make the output sound crisp and clear rather than it having a fuzzy type of noise to it. |

I have the djm500 and djm3000, and the sound is incredibly clear and sharp to me, it's outstanding. I have worked w/ the A&H mixer, and it sounds a tad better, but to the average person, that difference is not noticable. I still feel pioneer mixers are one of the best on the market..simply b/c they are so easy to learn and durable.

I think wicho was jus try'n to give Amer some props for recognizing another bene of owning & using a Pio mixer.
BTW, all these chracterizations of the "digital sounding" output are a buncha horse shi!t! When the sound is pumpin in a acoustically imperfect room, such as almost any dance club, and the place is packed with sweaty bouncing bodies all trying to out scream each other, I defy any one, even the RCA Victrola dog, to discern any audible difference between a pioneer DJM600 and an A&H whatevertheF. ![]() |

a lot of local clubs own 3 mixers. djm, xone, pmc55. they swap em around as required by gigs and dj's. the pmc and xone are hard to tell apart, but the djm is a dead giveaway. sounds muffled or filtered.

BS man its probably due to bad media it can't be the DJM. U got it all wrong it may not be as clear as other mixers but the human ear can't tell the difference. One thing i'm hoping pioneer puts in their mixers is optical faders that should increase sound clarity.

you guys are just lame pioneer groupies, the difference is dead obvious. its less obvious when playing off 12" then it is cd's. i had a residency at two of the clubs so i think i do know what im talking about. i personally hated to use the xone. despite its clearer sound, but seeing as i wasnt a senior resident i really didnt have much say in what was used.
nb: i find it amazing that you guys claim pioneer mixers sound so much clearer then low end mixers (for the sake of comparison i'll use a behringer vmx300) with a snr of 85 dB compared to pioneer with a snr of (if memory serves me correctly) 83 or 85dB, which is the same as a pioneer mixer (granted the vmx has a cross talk snr of 77dB, so lets say a 6-8dB difference). then you think you can't tell the difference between a pioneer and say a pmc55 which has a snr of >125dB. a massive difference of around 40/42. i think the figures speak for themselves. |
