Never heard of it happening, and GaryO's got Mackies and the 3000.

I have a 3000 and some powered speakers(not Mackies) and I've never had that problem either. That is weird.

I have the 3000 and D@S and PEA%&Y powered speakers, but no problems. Are going balanced out or RCA out of your Mixer? Before my 3000 I had to use a Hum Eliminator to kill off any noise because of the -10db that themixers usually are, and it made the signal +4db. You may want to try going out through the XLRs and see if goes away.
