Could be a ground-loop. Search the forums, we've discussed it a few times.

If you mean the unit is physically making noise (turn the amp off and unplug the headphones and it still hums) then that's not normal as far as I know. I've heard of CDJs doing that because of the motor inside spinning the CDs. Try making sure that nothing is making contact with the mixer in a way it shouldn't (meaning nothing should really be touching it unlesss it's racked, then only the screws and rails).
I have a headphone amplifier that will make an electrical hum if I put anything metalic on top of it (like my Lexicon reverb unit) |

Hey so does my 600 .... it makes a slight humming noise when i switch it on. All grounding seems fine.
