Hi I used to own a pioneer djm 800 and vsw1 switcher unit. when using this set up when i raised the channel faders it cut in the video instantly. With my new svm 1000 it fades the video on top of the other one. However when using the cross fader you can select a variety of transitions.

My question is are these transitions available to use on the channel faders as i dont tend to use the cross fader much. ive looked in the manual but could nt find anything. Anyone with any ideas would be great.

No, since the channel faders aren't configured to work that way. You can turn off the fader-sync and use the preview thumbnail images to switch video sources on/off ... or if you use video-solo mode, it will switch from one to another, but either way, that's not via the channel fader.
