I must be making a mistake somewhere, I'm not getting any sound whatsoever. Here are the connections I have:
djm500 cd1/input to jvc/cdr out/play djm500 phono3/input to onkyo turntable djm500/master out to Yamaha 3300 receiver CD djm500/booth monitor jvc/cdr input rec I still have one more cd and another turntable to hook up but so far my connections are not working. What am I doing wrong? Please help! ![]() |

DJPulse,
If I am not mistaken, your suggestions were: connect cdr out/play and turntable into djm500 inputs, master out to cdr rec, booth monitor receiver. This will enable me to monitor and record my mixes. Am I right? ![]() |

From your post i want to assume that you have 2 cd decks and 2 turntabls and a cdr recorder well heres the way I would hook it up.
CD Deck #1 - Line 1* Channel 1 CD DEck #2 - Line 1* Channel 2 Turtable #1 - Phono* Line Channel 3 Turtable #2 - Phono* Line Channel 4 As for your recorder, in the back of your mixer there is an RCA output connect that into your input/line-in found in your cdr recorder. Note that the turntables are put in phono mode which can be selected at the top of channel (its a horizontal switch) [line is for cd decks/phono is for turtables] In this setup if you want to play your cds by the crossfader select channel 1 and 2 (Depending on which media player you want to use select appropriate channel) Don't wanna make you look stupid but make sure all volumes on each channel are up and place crossfader in center. |

yup the connections would be the same like i said make sure that the turntables are set to phono and that the channel faders are selected properly check out the DJM500 manual (at http://www.pioneerprodj.com ) it has a really good illustration of how to connect ur gear. Look under products, mixers, djm500 and then docs.

Guys,
I hate to be keep asking but I'm missing one more connection. I understand the inputs 1-4 on the mixer I also got the suggestion to connect the rca master output at the back of the mixer to input/line in on my cdr. The next question is what connection am I running from the mixer to the receiver? Am I to run the booth monitor out to my receiver? As of now I have connections set up for two turntables and 1 cd and 1cd/cdr. I am using a Yamaha receiver. I must have a connection linking the receiver to my mixer. I hope my questions aren't throwing you off. I've been struggling with this for quite a while know. |

I'll see what happens when I connect the booth monitor out on the mixer to cdr input/play at the back of my receiver. Hopefully I will be able to monitor/listen to my mixes through my receiver and also record mixes into the cdr too.

The best way to go is to connect ur amp through XLR if your amp supports it and then use the booth monitor's RCA outputs to your cdr. but by using the master out and booth monitor u'll still get the the same thing except that when you use xlr the signals are balanced

yup, either way will work.
Either master to the CDR and booth to the receiver or booth to the CDR and master to the receiver. If I were you I would focus on getting sound out of the receiver first, through both the booth and master outputs, once you know how they both work, hook one up to the CDR and one up to the receiver. |
