Pulse, you've been very helpful in the past answering my questions concerning gear so I figured I throw this one at you. I recently purchased 2 mep-7000's...they're nothing short of amazing.
I'm going to use one setup strictly for karaoke and the other for my dj gigs. I need a 19 inch rack mount mixer for both setups. ie. 2 separate cases each holding a 19 mixer, an mep and a lighting controller. I want to purchase the djm 3000 but have not read to many good things about it and am hesitant. Is it a good solid product that I can rely on or am I wasting my money. I'm getting a little sick and tired of having to drag two cases around for every gig because I am presently using the djm 1000 which takes up pretty much all of my slant rack space...hence the need to bring 2 cases to all gigs. Your input would be much appreciated. I'm open to any other suggestiongs you may have.

The 1000 really is too much mixer for what you're doing. The 3000 is a decent mixer, the biggest problem with it is the channel faders occasionally unseating themselves and leaking signal to the other channels / master. It doesn't happen all the time and doesn't happen to every mixer but the easy fix is to push down on the fader-cap.

I really enjoyed mixing on the 3000 but it's just a reconfigured and improved DJM600 (the sound quality in the 3000 is better but now that the 800's out...)

The market is saturated with 19" mixers and it's unfortunate that Pioneer only has 2 rackmount in their line. Not to sell you to another brand but shop around and see what works best for you.

I have had my 3000 for about 8 years and have never had an issue with it. It is one of the best 19" mixers I have used.

At the show in Vegas back in Feb or March at the Pioneer booth all of the MEP's were set up with the 3000 and it is a very good match.

The only issue I have ever heard or read about is what Pulse has said and I would bet that the people that had problems beat the crap out of them or the post office did.

Thanks Pusle, that's just what I needed to know. I would do the 800 hands down if pioneer came out with a "tabletop" mep 7000 (it's nice to dream). Anyway, thanks again for the quick response.

Mike, thanks for your input too. It's good to know that abuse could possibly be the cause of the fader issues. I'm going to take everything into consideration and make my decision. Thanks for the input gentlemen.
