Is there some way to find out what the voltage is supposed to be coming out of the master out? I have reason to believe that mine is low or something. I would use my xlr but the house system at the bar I work is rca. So, i've been using my master out connection to their system. A few weeks ago, the system sounded like it died, and I had to crank up my gains and levels to compensate.
OR...am I going about this entirely the wrong way? |

Have you checked the master attenuator? There's a knob on the back of the mixer to adjust that. I'd check it before moving on to other potential problems.

Had no idea that was there. But, I just checked and its set at the 0db setting (which I believe is default; correct?). Any other suggestions? I hope its nothing too serious.

Another reason I think the master2 is screwed up, is because when i use master1 (the xlr out) the sound is much louder and coincides more with how high I have the trim turned up as well as how high i have the volume turned up.
This is aggravating.... |

Another question is, until I can get time to take the mixer in and get checked out, can I get an xlr to rca adapter and use my master1 out?

Figured I'd drop an update about the issue. Apparently, completely unknown to me, the bar I work has separate volume controls for the house system. Ive been working this place for about 5 months now and I was NEVER told about them. As a matter of fact, when this issue first started, the manager at that time was at a loss as well.
So, fast forward to last night, the issue was the worst it had ever been. Im damn near pinging my gains AND my volume to compensate. Finally one of the bouncers, who has been working there forever, had an idea. Sure enough, someone had been messing with those separate controls. Whats stupid as hell, is that the equipment room (with all the amps and such) is on the complete OPPOSITE side of the building where these separate volume controls are located. Needless to say, after we got everything leveled out, the place was rockin louder and clearer than it EVER has. Always had a feeling it wasnt entirely my equipment that was the issue. Now i know it WASNT at all! |
