PIONEER PROFESSIONAL DJ HEADPHONES KEEP THE MUSIC PUMPING

HDJ-1500 DJ Headphones Delivers Superb Sound and Noise Isolation

LONG BEACH, Calif. (April 10, 2012) – Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.’s Professional Sound and Visual Division today introduced the HDJ-1500, professional DJ headphones that promise to deliver excellent sound reproduction in a stylish cosmetic design intended for pro DJs.  Providing unmatched audio performance, the HDJ-1500 utilizes high quality components, large drivers, high quality construction and a new sound isolation technology to achieve exceptional performance in demanding environments.  The new HDJ-1500s will be available in deep silver and black chrome versions.

“A great pair of DJ headphones is so important, especially in loud environments because it lets you hear critical parts of the music that you need when mixing,” said David Arevalo, senior marketing manager, Professional Sound and Visual Division for Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.  “The Pioneer HDJ-1500 headphones not only sound great, they also help reduce ambient noise so you can beat match much easier, even when the gig you’re playing at is extremely loud.”

It’s in the Sound

The high-quality components incorporated into the HDJ-1500 headphones deliver perfectly balanced sound across the entire frequency spectrum. The combination of large 50mm drivers, copper-clad aluminum wire (CCAW) voice coils, rare-earth magnets and 38μm-thick diaphragms, significantly improve control of the drivers and produce better bass response.  Users will hear pronounced vocals, hard hitting kick drums and snappy snare drums that make matching tempos between tracks effortless.

The newly developed design also greatly reduces background noise.  Pioneer has created an innovative sound-isolation chamber as part of its bass reflex port that isolates low and mid frequencies in the 300 Hz to 1,300 Hz by as much as 4 decibels from the previous Pioneer model, resulting in cleaner, better defined mid bass/mid range sounds.

Defined by Design

The HDJ-1500 exemplifies the look and feel of pro-style headphones designed with large over-the-ears cups that not only look sleek but also contribute to their excellent performance.  The model incorporates ultra-comfortable narrow low-resilience urethane memory foam ear pads to create a tight seal around the ears and significantly reduce external sounds.  The urethane memory pads are also finished in durable leather for great feel and extended comfort.  For additional convenience and DJ preference, the included ear pads can also be replaced with Pioneer’s optional HDJ-EP01s open-cup protein leather ear pads which sit around the ears.

The HDJ-1500 features a moving headband and hinges composed of rugged yet lightweight magnesium alloy to withstand the rigors of extended professional use.  Each earpiece swivels up to 45 degrees and can be flipped around 180 degrees for one ear listening.  Furthermore, the included single-sided cable is detachable and can easily be replaced if damaged.

The headphones also include a compact carrying pouch for protection and convenience.  For DJs who want extra headphone protection, Pioneer offers the optional HDJ-HC01 lightweight carrying case.

Both color versions of the HDJ-1500 are available in May for a suggested price of $209.

RMX-1000 REMIX STATION Enhances DJ Performances

LONG BEACH, CA (March 16, 2012) – Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. Professional Sound and Visual Division today launched the RMX-1000 Remix Station, an innovative technologically advanced device for enhancing DJ performances with its ability to create and add a variety of new and unique remix  effects, as well as rhythmic sampling capabilities.  The RMX-1000 incorporates four remixing functions: Isolate FX, Scene FX, X-Pad FX and Release FX for simple musical arrangements with intuitive control, all accessible at the user’s fingertips.  The device includes Pioneer's remixbox™ editing software to enable users to customize almost every function and feature of the unit.  The system can also act as a USB controller when used with the included VST/AU RMX-1000 Plug-in software.

“The RMX-1000 isn’t your typical effector or sampler.  It allows you to mix in multiple unique remix effects that can be manipulated with whatever music is playing,” said David Arevalo, senior marketing manager, Professional Sound and Visual Division for Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.  “By adding multiple beat-synced effects and original rhythmic samples, the only limitation is your own creativity to unleash the ultimate remix on the fly in real-time.”

The compact and portable RMX-1000 allows users free control of musical developments with intuitive operation.  Four sections of the device are arranged with easy-to-control knobs and buttons that control multiple effect parameters. By combining the effects from each section, wider arrangements with greater individuality can be performed with ease.

Scene FX

In the Scene FX section, users can choose between five Build Up effects and five Break Down effects.  The Build Up effects, consisting of BPF ECHO, ECHO, NOISE, SPIRAL UP and REVERB UP, add sounds, while Break Down effects, consisting of HPF ECHO, LPF ECHO, CRUSH ECHO, SPIRAL DOWN and REVERB DOWN, cut sounds.  A large knob increases or decreases the parameter of effects chosen by simply turning the knob.  Two sub-parameters knobs are also available for additional changes to the effects being produced.

Isolate FX

The Isolate FX section, consisting of three individual knobs, processes the low, mid and high frequency bands of the music passing through.  The section is loaded with three effects in addition to an Isolator, providing rhythm patterns, timbre, etc., letting users freely modify the output for theHI/MID/LOWfrequency bands.  In addition to the Isolator, three additional effects in the section are available including CUT/ADD, TRANS/ROLL and GATE/DRIVE.

X-Pad FX

The device features a touchpad section called the X-PAD FX that enables users to develop and add new sounds not found in the original music. In addition to its four built-in audio samples, KICK, SNARE, CLAP and HI HAT, other audio samples edited in Pioneer’s remixbox software can be loaded using an SD card (not included) during DJ play.

Release FX

The system also includes a Release FX lever that eliminates the current music playing and leaves only the sound effects.  Release FX can also be used to create the opposite effect: When the lever is released, all section effects are eliminated while the original music continues to play.  Three types of Release FX are available including Vinyl Brake, Echo, and Back Spin.

Customization Using Remixbox Software

The included remixboxsoftware allows the user to customize various settings of the RMX-1000 on a computer, changing parameters such as volume output and values for different sections of the device.  The customized settings can then be transferred using an SD card for use with other RMX-1000s.

Virtual Studio Technology/Audio Units Plug-in

Using the included RMX-1000Plugin VST/AU1 plug-in software, users can create the same type of music production and effects while DJing on a computer.  In addition, connecting the device to a computer enables it to act as a controller for music production.

Additional Features

  • Excellent sound quality achieved through optimization of the audio circuit design parts layout and circuit board pattern
  • QUANTIZE function enables real-time music analysis and synchronization of effects along with the beat of the music
  • New AUTO BPM function automatically measures and follows the tempo of music
  • Compact design for easy portability and convenience
  • USB-MIDI for use as aMIDIcontroller

The RMX-1000 will be available in June with a suggested retail price of $999.

PIONEER BRINGS THE PERFECT MIX OF MUSIC AND FUNCTIONALITY WITH NEW DJ MIXER
DJM-850 Loaded with Advanced Features and Effects for Creative Mixing Capabilities

Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. Professional Sound and Visual Division continues to make advancements in its lineup of DJ products with the launch of its new DJM-850 performance DJ mixer that brings more functionality for the growing number of DJs that utilize today’s popular DJ software.  Inheriting many of the same technologies, reliability and operability of Pioneer’s industry standard DJM-900nexus mixer, the DJM-850 also features a built-in high-performance USB sound card, various functions for laptop-connected DJ performances, and the industry’s first1 BEAT COLOR FX function, which changes effects by linking the audio input of each channel.

“Pioneer has included innovative new features in the DJM-850 that expand DJs’ creative capabilities when they’re using their favorite DJ software. We see the growing use of DJ software as a great opportunity to bring professional level quality and features to this space,” said David Arevalo, senior marketing manager, Professional Sound and Visual Division for Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.

Variety of Effects
The DJM-850 follows Pioneer’s traditional mixer layout, featuring a variety of advanced sound effects that provide DJs with virtually limitless possibilities when mixing their music. Pioneer includes a new BEAT COLOR FX function, which changes effects by linking the audio input from each channel.

  • Sound Color FX – The Sound Color FX offers four types of effects (Filter, Crush, Noise and Gate) that can be linked to the input sound of each channel.
  • Beat Color FX – Users can quickly change between the new Beat Color FX and Sound Color FX to suit each tune for further remixing and sound capabilities. By activating the Beat Color FX, users are able to manipulate the Sound Color FX and Beat Effect simultaneously, resulting in more creative effects that complement the beat of the music.
  • Beat Effect – The Beat Effect function presents 13 different types of effects (Delay, Echo, Up Echo <new>, Spiral, Reverb, Trans, Filter, Flanger, Phaser, Robot, Slip Roll, Roll, and Reverse Roll) that can be combined to produce up to 100 other original effects.

Sound Quality
The design of the DJM-850 combines broad functionality and high quality components to achieve great sound quality:

  • 24bit/96kHz Built-in USB Sound Card – An integrated high performance USB sound card enables up to four inputs/outputs2simultaneously with no deterioration in sound quality.
    • The sound card supports three different sampling rates (96kHz/48kHz/44.1kHz) and the ASIO/Core Audio standards that can also be used for music recording and production.
    • The USB port on top of the mixer provides quick connections to use DJ software via laptop.  The signal output path from the mixer can be easily modified using its setup utility tool3 via a computer.
  • Sound Quality – The use of high quality components such as a 32-bit digital-to-analog output converter and a 32-bit digital signal processor, separate analog and digital circuitry, and extremely short audio transmission paths results in clear and powerful audio output.

TRAKTOR SCRATCH 2 Certified4
The DJM-850 offers compatibility to the Scratch Control (DVS)with Native Instrument’s TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO 2/DUO 2 software.  Using the timecode disc bundled with the software and a PC, the DJM-850 is ready for scratch control (DVS) with a CDJ player or Vinyl turntable.

Additional Features
The DJM-850 is equipped with additional features that add to the versatility of the mixer:

  • MIDI Signal - Operation information of the mixer’s knobs and buttons can be transmitted as a MIDI signal5 for a “Full Ensemble MIDI” function to control other connected devices.
  • Switching 3-Band EQ/Isolator – Each channel of the mixer is equipped with a switchable 3-band EQ (+6dB to -26dB) and 3-band isolator (+6dB to -∞dB)
  • High Performance Channel Faders - The slide mechanism supports the fader knobs with two metal shafts for both durability and smooth operation.  Furthermore, the new mechanism’s design minimizes the negative effects of moisture and dust particles on the mixer’s performance.
  • P-LOCK Fader Cap - Keeps the fader channel and crossfader knobs (caps) locked, preventing them from physically slipping off during heavy use.
  • Scratch Control - Scratch control6 is possible by using the time code disc7 bundled with DJ software supporting DVS (Digital Vinyl System)8 from CDJ players and vinyl turntables.
  • Auto Standby - Automatically senses active operation and the presence of input signals, switching to standby mode when inputs are not detected for a long period.

The DJM-850 will be available in black or silver colors in March 2012 with a suggested retail price of $1,999.
