Djm 750 xdj 700 set up issues

Recently purchased DJM750 and XDJ700, when trying to use this with USB it doesn't work fully, beat grids not showing up and bpm of songs not being read, saying I have to use with rekordbox for full effect, but I have downloaded rekordbox but still not working properly, same problem occurs when connecting it straight into laptop I am unable to use the xdj and djm when it's connected to the laptop, does anyone know how to set up properly to be able to use these decks to full performance with the USB or laptop?
