Yes, This is the issue as described above - in pretty clear detail. - forgive me- it just seems like we keep re-iterating this issue over and over.
The sound was not particular distorted... That is unless I had the Master Volume particular high...
The issue in this case is that the volume is just too high... it is much too loud... This ends up being an issue when using the microphone since the mic being too loud would typically lead to feedback- especially when used with a PA setup such as a Mobile DJ would use. (The problem is NOT with the setup... since the speakers are placed where they would normally be placed and where no issue comes up when using other mixers).
I have tried lowering the db for the mic input by adjusting the wireless mics that I have used to -10 db, but the issue still persisted... I have now tried an XLR pad that was sent to me by my dealer... as a gesture of them trying to support me in this case, since Pioneer DJ unfortunately has done nothing to resolve this... the XLR Pad is -20 db... so removing the -10 db from the Mic and leaving the Pad of only -20 db... I notice that now I am able to raise the volume to a higher level on the rotary knob... but it still is a bit peculiar maybe seems like -20 is too much... regardless it just doesn't adjust well I have to constantly adjust the mic level to avoid feedback... this issue does not present itself when using any other mixer, or even my XDJ-AERO. (which had a built in physical attenuation knob)
Another item I JUST noticed recently that I believe may be tied to this (which is the only reason I present this here in hopes that the engineers take note of this too)... I plugged in my phone via a lightning cable to the available USB slot for insert and Aux effect etc... when that is routed over to the AUX knob... it is SUPER LOUD... again not sure if that is related to this issue... if both signals run on the same bus, but I am presenting it here as well for consideration... it is evident that the testing done on this unit must have been flawed somehow and perhaps not truly mimicking a live setup.
Please note: This Microphone issue is present regardless of what type of Microphone I have used...Cheap, Intermediate, Wired, Wireless etc.
Problem is Mic input is just too loud and there is no way to adjust it... if this is the case then sadly the mic feature of the DJM 450 ( a mixer released less than a year ago) is at best flawed and at worst useless.
I think when the testing was conducted the mic may have been tested while the mixer was at low levels for its Master Output... which is not the way it would be setup at a live scenario.
Your help, consideration and attention to this is certainly VERY appreciated.
Thank you!
