Djm-s9 with Numark V7

How do you get the Akai pads to do the other functions when using the sevens and an S9 together? I just got my S9 today and am having a hard time being able to use all of the buttons the way that the mixer should. I'm running Windows 7 and all updated software. Whenever I hit any of the Serato effects buttons on the S-9, to the right, on the little display it says "connect to Serato DJ." I don't think that I skipped any steps in my installation all of my drivers are installed correctly and I can access the setup utility menu for the mixer itself within my computer.

The S9 and V7, both devices are unlocking SDJ.
There was a hack a few years ago for this situation :
- plug the S9 first so it unlock SDJ
- when everyhting is ok and working, plug the V7 so it acts only as a midi device and not a soundcard.

But I don't understand how you will do your routing.
The S9 is expecting timecode (usb mode) the V7 can't send this and if you use the S9 in thru mode, I'm not sure the midi part will work, only the onboard fx in audio mode I guess.
