just pen drive and cds
What is the make / model of the USB drive you are using with the R1?
tdk 16gb
firmware 1.13
why don't u guys send me a Pioneer usb pen drive so I can use that on my console, hoping it'll solve the problem...
does the unit work better with a 3.0 usb pen or stay on a 2.0?
It's quite simple - if the player can't read the data quickly and without error, there's a chance it will encounter an issue with performance.
You didn't tell me the model of that TDK drive, but from what I can find on their website about the various models they do offer, I wouldn't exactly call those "performance" units.
The XDJ-R1 itself is a USB2 compliant device, and USB3 isn't necessary on the host end simply because the maximum data transfer rate of USB2 is high enough for what is needed for playback of 2 tracks simultaneously. Why a USB3 drive is important is the spec they're designed for is higher than that of a USB2 device, meaning it's less likely to suffer any kind of performance issues. Not only that, but export times from rekordbox will be incredibly shorter if you have a quality USB3 drive.
I would recommend you try a different USB drive (preferably something that you don't get at the local Office Depot or Staples), and see if the issues persist.
And no, I can't send you a drive.
