A friend of mine bought from rotarykits and he didn't like it, says it was cheap feeling. his exact words
I got a knob kit from rotarykits.com and I'm very unhappy with it..I can bend this plate. That guy has the right idea, but the knobs and potentiometers are made in China crap. That whole thing costs him less then $50 to make.
Thanks for the info, I wonder if this upgrade voids your warranty, I'm sure it does
I don't think this is supported by Pioneer...
I can confirm that using any type of third party parts inside your mixer will most certainly void your warranty.
I have the 800 rotary in my 900, does that void the warranty?
Good Day to you all,
@BriChi, I'm the owner/manufacturer at rotarykits.com. To your friend who says that the product is "made in china crap," I'd like to offer the following response: As a person who goes out of his way to avoid purchasing tools or items made in China (it's a lot harder than you might think), I take offense to this comment. The potentiometers used are Alps RK97 series, and are manufactured in Japan. The knobs used are made by Kilo International in Provo, UT. The PC boards are manufactured in San Francisco, CA. The plates are milled/water jetted in San Francisco, and then sent to Florida where they are powder coated and laser-etched. When they come back to me, I assemble them in CA, and each unit going back about 3 years now has a "proudly assembled in the USA" sticker attached to it. To the comment about the "bendable plate;" they were originally made of aluminum, but I switched to steel a few years ago, just to provide a weightier "feel" to them. I can assure you, that these cost much more than "$50" to manufacture, in fact, I often contemplate discontinuing these or raising prices, as there's not much of a margin to them since I don't use Chinese facilities. I don't usually offer refunds, but I encourage your friend to reach out to me, as I'll happily take his back.
Wow, digging up a bit of an old post, but kudos to you @Scoot for the great customer service, and thank for filling the void to create a product where we were unable to maintain the demand to produce it at scale.
