CDJ-2000 - inserted SD Card and CDJ short circuits screen/button

A DJ friend yesterday inserted his SD Card into my CDJ-2000 Limited Edition (non Nexus) while it was playing a track and upon inserting, the screen, loop buttons, cue & play buttons all went out.  Now when I power back on the CDJ, the only things that come on are the track search and search buttons and the light for where you insert a CD.  No other buttons light up and the screen is completely blacked out/blank.  it doesn't even load the pioneer logo, but during powering on, you can hear the CDJ make that loading sound it makes when you power them on.

I have tried doing a factory reset (usb stop+disc eject+power button), as well as tried doing a firmware upgrade (usb stop+reloop/exit+power button) and still nothing.

Its as if the SD Card short circuited something, but my DJ friend said he had used the same SD card the night before at a gig using CDJ's.  Any help or input would be greatly appreciated!!

@Steve > Sorry about that - I've never, in all my experiences with CDJs, ever heard of an SD card shorting out a player! If anything, I suspect that it may be a cable / ribbon came loose from the mainboard. It's best to have the unit serviced at an authorized shop where they can open it up and check it out. You can contact Pioneer DJ technical support in your region to find the closest shop.
