I want to remap the auto beat loops to the sampler pad mode on my DDJ 800 - I don't like the way I have to press shift to select beat mode and then go to page 2 for my preferred auto beat loop lengths.
When I go into the midi window in rekordbox and try and change any of the default pad modes, I get an error:-
"You cannot change the assignment for this MIDI code"
Are the pad modes locked down for the DDJ 800?
I don't see the existing mappings for any of the pad modes or pads themselves - help please!

I have a DDJ-800 and can help you out. Use the same method used for mapping stems to a pad mode. Here is the simplest and best video that will get you started from Phil at Digital DJ Tips.
