ooops I see I had to place this post in Forums/Softwarer/ableton....
Hey!
Ableton is complete new to me and I'm trying to get it running with my djm 2000.
I want to use ableton effects in combo with my djm 2000.
So I want to root the channel that I'm using from my djm 2000 trough ableton.
I guess this is possible...
How do I need to set up the DJM-2000 settings utility? Asio 4 outputs , 0 inputs 16 bit ?
Do I need to change the asio settings?
If this is possible, I would appreciate any help :)
It would be so awesome if I could get this up and running!
thanks in advance!

ooops I see I had to place this post in Forums/Softwarer/ableton....
thanks pionix!
Thanks! I already had found that ;)
But for some reason it doesn't work...
Don't know what i'm doing wrong!
Too dangerous thanks to an open loop - don't try it at home unless you know what you're doing, and if you're asking, you don't know what you're doing so please don't try.
Pulse ,
So you mean Its possible to have a "loop" that can cause loud volume.. and of course that isn't good for my mixer.
Weird ...
The sound will go through ableton Before it will output? Or am I wrong here?
Cdj => DJm channel 01 => Ableton => djm channel 01 => output
I don't have to rewire the ableton sound to an other channel ?
Please clear some out for me :)
I sure don't know all about ableton , but I can handle my equipment :)
thanks!
Here's why...
The only output from the mixer is a "master" output. If you send that output to Ableton and then loop it back into one of the channels, that channel would then dump into the master which goes into Ableton and so on and so on creating a feedback loop.
I see :) makes sense...
There is no way I can solve this in an other way ??
Or is this the only way to go?
I just want to mix with the cdjs , and additionally add some ableton stuff :)
thanks again!
Heck no! If you don't want to loop the audio through Ableton, you can certainly send FROM Ableton no hassle! Simply assign the outputs you want from the software to the channels you want on the mixer and presto - you can play content from the software to the mixer all day long.
haha yes thought so ;) ...
but playing content from the software is one thing....
Being able to play content from the cdj and then be able to modify it in ableton is the real thing!
What other options do I have ? there must be a way.... I guess a lot of people use it that way.
Root the Cjs first trough ableton would work I guess. :/
I really want this to work.. You know pulse how interesting it is :)
Hello when you use live on my djm-2000 e noticed that pressing the keys of screen touch midi there is a lag time between when pulse key and when sounds the sound I wanted to know if this is normal that live I have selected the shot of the clips to 1/32 and au so there is this gap
@TheOne: The quick version ...
Buy the NI Audio 10 (or other model) sound card, connect the CDJs RCA phono output connectors to its inputs and the DJM RCA phono input connectors to its outputs. Configure the Ableton tracks audio from Ext. In channel xx (depends on your configuration), Audio Ext. Out channel xx (depends on your configuration) and switch the DJM channel selector to the appropriate mode.
You can then either set the Ableton track monitor mode to auto and arm the track or set the monitor mode to In.
Now you are able to use Ableton effects on top of the tracks played on the CDJs. Have phun :)
