I can tell you the djm 2k is a belter of a mixer and the more I use it the more I'm loving it ,only last night I had another amazing throw down, I am not sure what you are talking about when you say the 2000 is a mixer for longer transitions of mixing as I used to play on the 700 and find any mixer can be used for either style in my opinion and a good mixer will allow variation in styles as the 700 did for me it depended on my mood mainly. But that aside your choice is not going to disappoint which ever way you go, I have never used the 900 and can only say the 2000 series as a complete system is very impressive but check the other posts on this forum site as I might sound biased (NOT FANBOY !) The 2000 oooozzes quality though, happy hunting man.

FolgenDJM 2000 or 900 nexus ?
Hi there,
I'm soon going to upgrade to either a DJM 2000 or a DJM 900 nexus to go with my pair of CDJ 2000's though I'm still pretty unsure of which to get. I know the 2000 is more for slightly "longer" mixing, meaning that it's good for longer trasitions with frequency mixing, for example and the quick beat effects but I'm more in to quick transitions and I use effects quite quickly, I'm not in to the long effect build ups etc and I like the spiral and melodic effects on the 900 and I also prefer the layout on the 900, I don't really like the look of the 2000.
That been said, I'm also going to purchase an RMX 1000 soon so I will have the spiral effects on that so I've started thinking that maybe I could benefit from the frequency mixing and other extras on the 2000 without losing out on too much from the 900. I just wanted to know what y'all think would be best for me and what else I would be missing out on if I were to get the 900 but what would I brenefit from it ? You should also know that if it would really be worth it, the extra money isn't really a problem and also the equipment will will be staying at home so the extra space and weight won't be a problem.
Thanks a lot for your help,
Thomas.

But just think, your setup could look like this,

Like Pionix above me stated, this was already discussed in another part of the forum. (quite recently)
I personally love my DJM-2000 because you have so much control over the sound, and you can adjust the intensity and frequency range (with the isolators) for a lot of the effects.
This is something that cannot be done with the DJM-900.
DJM 900 Is awesome, i love mine and the X pad is a nice touch. The 2000 is also just as awesome so get your hands on both of them before you buy and see which you prefer.
