Both will suit your needs. If you don't have a need for quantized effects or digital connection between the players and mixer, the 850 will save you some cash and offer similar features and quality.
I'm currently have a DJM-800 and it's 6 years old and looking to upgrade to either the DJM-900 or DJM-850. I'm strictly a Mobile DJ that spins Weddings, Private and Corporate events but with the club style mixing. I use most off the effects and line inputs. Wanted some feedback which mixer is more suitable for my usage? Thanks for your feedback in advance.

Thanks Pulse for the feedback!
900 just for the X-Pad :o)
I do like the X-Pad. It seems like it would make build ups a lot easier to do. I'm considering a change from my Denon DN-X1600 to the 900Nexus. But, I'm not sure if it's worth doing the upgrade. Can someone explain to me what I would gain by making the Pioneer investment?
I have the DJM 2000 Nexus mixer. But I am now thinking of getting either the 850 or the 900 as well. I'm just not sure which one? Seems that all the videos I watch of the djs using the 900 & RB, they dont have the players all linked to the mixer because I don't see any RED platters illuminated... And I think the 850 is all metal while the 900 is plastic on the sides?? So if I don't care about the X pad strip... (which I think is useless) and I by pass the link feature to activate the red platters... I guess the 850 would be the way to go? And even with 2 less color effects... I think it has all the good and necessary effects needed on a mixer... Any thoughts or opinons of anyone who has played on both?
i played on an 850 last week and the new colour fx are excellent with the boost button,
Go and have a play at a dealers before you part with your cash.
@DjPete I own the 900 nexus and have seen enough videos of the djm 850 to get a sense of what its about. So If you own cdj 900 or 2000 edition players I would get the 900 nexus because why not. You mentioned that the link feature isn't your thing but quantized beat effects are great when you actually have a chance to use it. Think of it as having a car door with manual windows vs power windows you could work with both but you may prefer the latter. Also the xpad once you used it enough times for things like slip roll, roll and reverb for tails it really is a feature that would make you miss it if you where to go back to perimeter buttons such as on the 850. Space color effect on the 900 is awesome, did not like it at first thought it sounded a little too much. But I started to utilize it, I use it as a substitue for echo and also works great when used sparingly for transitions. It has become one of my favorite color effects besides noise and filter. The djm 850 color beat effects are a welcomed feature that most djs would like to utilize on a set but you can not go wrong with trying both out before buying like Pionix mentioned above.
thanks guys for the feed back.
