Yes I bet you need CDJ2000 Nexus for beat slice
Keep yer shorts on kids, wait for the firmware!
VERY interesting. I await this eagerly!
No, it should work also with the CDJ 2000:
"BEAT SLICE“BEAT SLICE” function to create new track slices using the touch panel.Spontaneously sample, slice and chop tracks to create original arrangements – while the unit’s Quantize function analyses rekordbox™ track information on connected players*2 to automatically snap new creations to the beat."
And under 2:
*2 : Applicable players: CDJ-2000nexus, CDJ-2000, CDJ-900
It's from the official Pioneer DJ Site! But when the DJM 2000 arrived, they said, it has a 24 bit 96kHz 8 channel sound card, so you see... We have to wait!
cannot wait to get 3.0 man, so excited now :)
hahaha pulse!! you got them running hot !
I was so close to pulling the trigger on the DJM-2000 a couple of weeks ago. I bought a DJM-900Nexus instead. Wish I had had a clue. Oh well. I feel bad for anyone that has the current model.
@ DJ Roubo, the 2000 and 2000nexus will be identical from the functions, only the design will differ slightly ;)
Why feel bad for anyone with the current model? If what we read is true, all the important features of the nexus will be available for the mk1.
Also, I got my DJM-2000 2.5 years ago, I was among the first people to own such an awesome - and it is awesome - mixer. I don't expect anyone to feel 'bad' about that. It doesn't make sense.
Hellelujaa... GOD.. it has been AGES and AGES but FINALLY we see a Nexus.. and the announcement about a new FW for the original DJM-2000 is GREAT! but.. I do hope they will incorporate as much from the new model as possible, and for sure I hope the existing things are now 100 % working like it should! I also hope we can gain some new functions when using the new nexus players or something :)
Pretty cool that the firmware update gives pretty much all the non hardware functions of the 2K nexus.. Hopefully they implement the sampler features in a rmx mk2 at some point in future.. Rmx could have been huge if it gave someof the slicer ability and longer length..
How long is sampler length in djm2k? 8 beats?
Surprised an xpad wasnt put on the 2k nexus tho,,,
@Mark90 > I'm with you. While the 900nexus is a (slightly!) more compact solution to drag around I love setting up the DJM2000 at home.
@Jack > Yes, the DJM2000nexus was built with the functionality of the CDJ2000nexus in mind.
Hey guys the even re did the remix side chain effect one them is side chain noise !!!!! ;) look in the PDF manual
@ Kevin Savage. The djm 2000 comes with an x y pad;)!! I have to agree with you on the 8 beat button on the rmx section. That would be sweet. I've been using the djm 2000 since it came out, and besides having to adjust the levels for oscillators and noise, it has been amazing! I''ve used the djm 900 a lot as well, great mixer, but I sure love thwarted accessibility of all the effects on the djm 2000! No knobs to turn to simply select an effect. I'm very happy to hear about this new firmware update, and I'm sure all the 2000 owners will be happy if we are brought up to speed with the new nexus mixer. Last time when the 900 was released everyone was chapped about how the 2000 didnt have the quantized effects features. Pioneer made it happen! Let's not lose faith, and see what they have in store. @ Gavin and Pulse
Thank you guys for being as informative as you have been, and thank you guys for listening to the customers and representing us and our feedback to the big guys!
I own the DJM 2000 and it has been a great mixer. Really looking forward to the new firmware update.
@ GAVIN:Thank you Gavin. Very fare statement. I look forward to seeing what the new version will have to offer and hope we can all put this behind us and learn from it.
CHEERS
"@walter > the hardware between the two mixers is different. The firmware wasn't just developed for the Nexus and it wasn't just a happy coincidence it works in the MK1. It had to be specifically tailored for the hardware. Admittedly, an update should have come sooner alas here we are with an update that aims to fix bugs and pack in new features."

Ok, I've read the manual from the DJM 2000 Nexus and I'm a bit confused...
It seems the mixer has the same sound card as the old model!?!
Configs: 4 stereo 16 bit input, 3 input 24 bit, 3 input and 1 output 16 bit
So, what is the hardware difference?!?
@Xador, this is probably the last update we will see for the djm2k, i guess the new hardware will allow some wicked stuff in future firmwares for the nexus..
Btw, since this nexus update works for the djm2k maybe the cdj nexus updates works for the mk1? Anyone wants to give it a try? :)
LOL thank you all
Have been reading the forums closely on this matter.. Great to see this positive turn! can't wait for the update.
Wow glad to see something positive I'm out of this. Very excited!!!

Got a Gig in a few days. Hope I can use the new firmware until the day arrives.. :)
Me to... I have GIG 1.12. so I hope, that I will test here new FW :-).
But it´s not so important, most important is that new FW will be in future and with new function from NXS.
Most important is that the new firmware solves old issues without adding new bugs
