Folgen[SOLVED] DJM-900 nexus ver. 1.28 unable to start
Hi, although i will be speaking to my Pioneer dealer tomorrow I thought I would post here as I found one thread the same as mine that did not seem to have a answer yet it is closed for comments.
My setup is very simple DJM-900 Nexus, 2 x cdj 2000's, pioneer headphoneshdj-2000's using a normal home Amp connecting using standard red/white 3.5mm cables into the line in on the amp and standard speakers and also plugging in to the line in on the home pc when I setup in my office using the line in on my pc sound card.
All has been working great since I purchased the kit new in April however about 2 weeks ago when I switched the Mixer unit on it did not power up correctly and ended up being stuck on a screen saying Updare - version 1.28 with the LFO light stuck on permanantly. I powered off and on and it did it again I observed that the red light flashes 3 x 3. in other words 3 flashes - break - 3 flashes - break - 3 flashes - then light stays on. I unplugged everything plugged it all back in and same deal. I then thought over heating which it should not have done but working with computer components for over 25 years you get a feel for what a dodgy electrical component starts to do. Eventually after leaving it alone for 5 minutes it started up correctly and I hoped that would be it. However it did it again and then 1 week back I noticed after mixing for about 20 minutes the sound suddenly got very distorted, almost as if the speakers had blown up but the speakers were fine it was as if the mixer was distorting the sound - muffled and crackling. So I went through the usual tests, got out a different Amp, different set of speakers, it switched on ok and played ok then within 10 minutes the muffled / distorted sound started again. After switching off the unit and on again low and beyold the old stuck red light is back and the unit won't power on. These two things are far too related to be coincidence and I have not changed any user settings on my mixer since I brought it new.
As I said I think the unit has become faulty and will be calling the dealer tomorrow and will update this thread when I hear back from them but willing to listen to options for the Pioneer forum people too if you want me to try something before hand.
Hopefully this will help others know they are not alone when doing a search the same way I did and only found that one thread recently with the same issues.
Cheers
Steve

I just heard back that the PCB board has to be replaced. Apparently a rare thing and there was no stock in the UK so board is being ordered from Japan and the unit should be ready next week. Fingers crossed. I will keep you updated when I hear back next week.
