[SOLVED] DJM-900 recording from multiple programs.......

Hi all,

last week i've made a recording of a mix through the djm-900 which is connected to my macbook. The routing-utility is always preset so that when the mixer connects, the Record-out is sent to the macbook. When i then open up Audacity it sees 2-channels and works/records great.

However last week i decided to record the mixing at the same time with Quicktime through a webcam. So i opened up Audacity, then Quicktime and in Quicktime also routed the DJM900 for sound-input. So i had Audacity recording and Quicktime at the same moment.

Audacity recorded stereo just fine but in Quicktime it recorded 8 channels. So all my cueing was in there etc........ I had to edit it out of the final movie so i was left with a 2-channel track again.

Is this the normal operation? In Audacity it works fine and picks the 2-channels as configured in the setup-utility but Quicktime just recorded all channels.....

Thanks guys!

Never mind.... :-) . Seems to be an issue with Quicktime. In audacity you can select 2-channels/stereo recording and Quicktime default records all the 8-channels the DJM puts out. So channel 1-2 is coming from the REC OUT and the other channels are postfader etc.

Sadly quicktime has no option to select the input channels to use.
