FolgenDoes Pioneer offer a refurbishment program?
I was told a few years back that Pioneer offered a refurbishment program on both their CD decks and mixers, where you could send an item in and, for a set fee, they would refurbish it. The fee varied from product to product, but I want to say I was told a CDJ-1000 would run around $350, and a mixer (DJM-600, maybe?), around $250.
I see where Pioneer sells refurbished equipment, but I haven't seem anything about the sort of program I'm talking about. I've got a DJM-800 that could use some sprucing up, but more importantly, I'm looking at a pair of used CDJ-1000s, and I'd feel a lot better about pulling the trigger on them if I knew there was a way to get them spruced up if need be.
So I'm wondering: Does such a program exist? Did one ever exist? And if not, do any of you guys know any outside companies that do that sort of thing? The mixer mainly just needs cosmetic work. That, and the ground wire connection needs to be replaced (I've never had a Pioneer mixer where that wasn't an issue; the ground post gets stripped out far too easily.) The decks, though, I figure will need the lasers replaced sooner or later, and I have no idea what that entails, whether I could do it myself, none of that.
Even if you don't know of any refurbishment programs, any advice/suggestions on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
