Recording- DJM 2000 the most beneficial way

Here goes .....

I have decided that i don't want to loose my 4th channel as a means of recording into tractor.  The way i see it the mixer is 4 channels for a reason and dam i have paid enough so i want to mix on all 4.  If i buy a Maudio microTrack and plug it in via the digital out on the back of the DJM 200 Nexus straight into the digital in on the Maudio micro track   How do you control the level in which the DJM pumps out?  or do you just adjust what comes into the Maudio once you do a test record?

Secondly,  is it better to record digital out on the mixer to digital in on the recorder or record rca out on the mixer to rca in on the recorder?  also advantages / disadvantages of both.

Thanks all i appreciate it!

@Jay > You're best to record directly from the digital output to the digital input - this way there is no need to convert the signal twice; D/A and then A/D.

As for the levels, the recording levels are based on the channel levels, minus the overhead. Set your target levels in advance, adjust the recording levels on the microTrack and have at'r!
