REKORDBOX NOT FINDING KEY NOTE INFORMATION ON ANY TRACKS

does it load it if you right click on the song in Rekordbox and choose "reload tag"?

No, it does not detect the key of your music.

You need another application to analyze your (mp3) files and write the keys in the ID3 tags.

Then Rekordbox is able to read them.

A good program for this is Mixedinkey but it's not free.

'most' other software does not do this, 'some' specialist software does it. mixed in key (as mentioned above) and rapid evolution (free) are two good examples.

rekordbox is more of dj librarian & track preparation tool, closer to itunes (which doesn't do key detection either).

ohhhhhh, you thought RB would find the actual key? Like the above posts, it does not do this. I thought you already ran it through a program that incorporated the key in the tag and it just wasnt showing in RB

I am struggling to get logic evoloution to write the key to the ID. I have done the key detect which is does nicely and then gone to write tag and it says its not saved the tags to the tracks and indeed it hasnt when copied to RB

what am i doing wrong

Also note that RekordBox doesn't seam to import key information from M4A files

@Michael Fearn > I'm not familiar with Logic Evolution; does it have a feature to analyse the track and write the key to the ID3 tag, then save? If it does write to the ID3 field you'll need to hit 'Reload Tag' in Rekordbox.

how the hell do i get MIK to write the key info to the MP3 Tag. I ccan get it to rename the file with the key and bpm at the start etc but the key info does still not load into RB even after a reload tag.

im using version 2.5 of MIK

I'm using version 4 and it works fine, maybe it's only supported in 3 or 4 or later?

I was using Rapid Evolution 3,  wrong in more than 90 % of the analyzed tracks  !

Never coincided with the keys showed on beatport

By the way, who knows how beatport finds the keys of the tracks ? They use a MIK kind of software or the producer of the tracks needs to specify it when uploading the track ?

Can i be sure the key showed on the beatport site is the right one ?

@MarianEugen I think I read somewhere they use their own algorithm, which they're constantly working to improve.

Guys go to settings and under track analysis mode choose dynamic.
