DDJ-ERGO Problems

The first DDJ-ERGO I purchased worked fine for a few days and then the right side jog stopped scratching properly. It would only scratch when rotating forwards, not backwards. So you get half a scratch, just silence on the reverse spin. I sent the unit back to the retailer and they sent me a new one, which does the same thing. So then I was thinking software, but I uninstalled and reinstalled Virtual DJ (the next disc the came with the new controller). Now a new problem arose today... When I turn on the controller, the right side deck's lights spin as though I'm playing a track when no track is loaded. This thing is acting really erratic, which poses a major problem for playing a live set. Any help?
